I think my M2 is here

According to US postal service website's track and trace search engine, my M2 left the US (San Francisco) on the 26/02/05 at 6:06pm.
With air travel between San Francisco and Auckland New Zealand is around 15-16 hours, so that means in theory my Leica M2 is in New Zealand somewhere! International Mail terminal, fine. North Shore Mail Centre, cause for concern. Customs, argh, noooo...

So let us join together in a digital unison and pray.

O Oskar Barnack, whose begotten invention,
has purchased for us the rewards of captured light.
Grant your precious invention and salvation
from the horrors of Customs and Applicable Duty Fees.
Freedom from whose who seek to posterior and meddle with Postal dispatch.
We beseech thee for Godspeed and swift deliverance,
In the name of Leitz, Oskar and the blessed Henry Cartier Besson,
Tri-X

(guess where my lovely parents sent me on Sunday mornings!)

You have my sympathies...

I know how it is... If possible, for more expensive items I ask the seller to declare lower value. Risky, I know, but so far no problems... Still have to pay something, but it's better to pay $50 than $200 in taxes... :(

I just wish those cameras could be sent by e-mail :D

Stu, you have my sympathies.

It's not quite the same situation but I have something arriving from Fed Ex. When shipped, it's estimated delivery was March 2. The item has been in Rochester (where I live) since Saturday and it's not scheduled for shipment today (why???!!). I hope they really aren't going to wait 2 more days to drive it about a mile. :bang:
