I think my MP drains too much battery...

I didn't change my battery in MP for two years... I precock the shutter... I turn off, whenever I put camera away... Though, I saw the LED of a battery, about a month ago... But, it still works, and I don't see that LED of a battery no more since... The metering is fine, so I just hold next battery close in my pocket, and wait till the battery runs completely...

OK. I tried to get the facts straight about this, just now. It turns out that I couldn´t find anything, and that the Leica MP manual is somewhat elusive on this point.

Have you got a source that confirms the fact that battery drain can take place, even though the LEDs have turned off?

I have to admit that my assumption was that the turning off of the LEDs was equal to the metering circuit turning off.
