I was Bored / x-ray of my IIIC

I was bored the other day and looking for new subjects to x-ray so I pulled my IIIC out and my M2 and stuck them in my x-ray machine. I think you'll find this interesting. Later this week I'll scan my M2 and post it aswell. I also have x-rays of my Nikon F and Baby Rollei (1933) and will do the same with them.

For those technically minded the exposure was in a HP Faxitron at 130KV / 3ma using Ilford Delta 100 / HC developer normal 1:32 and exposed for 105 seconds.

Way cool! X-ray photos have always fascinated me, I'm probably one of the youngest peopel who actually used one of those Buster Brown x-ray machines(I'm 45)--they were a machine that you would put your feet into at the bottom and could look down into and see your toes wiggling around inside your new shoes. The machines were taken out of most shoe stores by(I think) the late 1950's but my home town was a bit behind the times and I must've been 5(1965) when I did this. The machine was gone the next time I was getting new shoes--I was so disappointed.

Don -- Great radiographs on your site! (Everyone most check it out.) Of course the new one of of the IIIc is my favorite.

Rob -- Wow! That brings back an old memory. It had to have been around 1953 (give or take a year) that I was last in a Buster Brown shoe store with the x-ray machine (I'm 61). It's amazing that you saw one as late as 1965.

When I got into art x-rays in the mid 60's all of the machines had been removed from shoe stores. I found one that an old woman that owned a shoe store had stored in her basement. With a little smooth talking she gave it to me. The tube in it was bad so I salvaged the lead for a machine that I was building and kept the fluoroscope screen and tube.
