Hey, check out the article I wrote on my Instamatic photo project for Petapixel. If you can, please do me a favor and give the page a "like" and write a comment about the photos and such. Much appreciated! 🙂
I'll post some of the article here next week as well.

Great post! It was wonderful reading about your experiences with the Kodak Instamatic. I completely agree with getting away from menus, focusing areas, white balance, etc. It's best to focus on shooting and why I still shoot film. I especially liked your idea of making diptychs and triptychs.

Will you be writing more for PetaPixel?

Hi Villanova,

Thanks for looking and the nice feedback! I have two more ready-to-go articles. One on my shoot for the FDNY, and another on a cool Infrared project. I don't know if it they'll appear on Petapixel or elsewhere. I also wrote a comedic novel that I hope to get published. So far I haven't been able to find a literary agent for it. I may put it on Amazon Kindle or make a screenplay out of it. Just having fun. Still have a few hundred new negs to scan. Wish I didn't need to pay bills so i could work on all this full time. 🙂 Cheers!

Great article - literally just read it on Petapixel and then flipped over here, not realising who the author was. It brought me back to the the start of my photography with 126. I had an Agfa myself back about 1972.

LOL - small world. There's a new header photo now -- rather than unpack lights and such - it's too too hot in NYC area today -- so I lit the shot (see above) with a $29 triple pole lamp that I somehow tilted and balanced on a desk chair - amazing thing that automatic white balance 🙂

Wish I'd known you were doing this, I could have sent you a supply of cubes.

A very well done article, Dan. I've been thinking about reloading some cartridges with new film, and shooting my Instamatic 500. Had an X45 back when I was in the Navy because no one would steal it. It was great until the winding mech broke, then I switched to an X35, and put an adapter on it so I could use electronic flash.
