Iceland & Faroe Islands

Sick of the cold, we decided to head back south. The ride down the road alongside the seemingly endless fjords took us ages, going back and forth as the road embraced the sheer rock and steep hillsides. The sights were decent nonetheless.

Very good photos and enjoyable reading. This brings back many memories from my own trip the Faroer Islands back in 1985 when my father and I went there by car from Germany, taking the ferry from Hirtshals to Thorshavn. We stayed there for two weeks, I need to dig out the Agfachrome slides the next time I go back to Germany.

Beautiful work! My son and I are in Hofn this morning heading further east counter clockwise around. The scenery has been incredible. Wish there were more spots along the road to turn out with the car.

Höfn is a nice windy coast. The Ring Road isn't a bad idea with the car, lots to see.

The best post that I have red in a long time. Happy travel wherever you go tsiklonout. Regards, Vladimir.

Thank you sir!

Cheers! The same feeling for me for other places, I'd love to visit some places I've been many years ago.

Just after we’d settled at a campsite in Drangsnes, we headed a few hundred meters down the road where we’d noticed some open-air hot pots. There were basically three small tubs (with different temperature) on the roadside just by the ocean, open 24/7 to anyone craving for a dip:

Amazing travel reportage. I just returned from Iceland, trip with combination of photography for my project and some relaxing and spending holiday there (in reykjavik mainly). I mainly shot around Snæfellsjökull and around Fjallabaki regions. All my film is still undeveloped (4x5 ektar and fomapan retro 320). Next few weeks I'll be processing film, printing and trying to do selection for my project (it's a juxtaposition between Lapland and Iceland, both very similar but so different in other respects).

Thanks! Project sound very nice as well, I really like the northern parts of Finland and Karjala.

Next morning, we got up early again – the winds had been ferocious all night long, and we were eager to leave for some quieter place. Before heading on south we made a detour north towards Norðurfjörður some hundred kilometres away, but turned around quite soon – the road was in a pretty bad shape, and the gusts of wind just kept on coming at us, so we figured that the battle was not quite worth it.
