Iceland Volcano Ash

Has anyone been to any of the areas of Iceland that were covered by Volcano ash? My trip to India was canceled so I'm replanning a trip to Iceland and rumors of whole valleys covered in ash make me want to visit them.

Haven't heard anything along those lines, but when I see the pictures of the hot springs they have there I entertain similar thoughts!
