Icon/Smiley added to thread - how to remove?

I added an icon/smiley to a new thread I created. The icon shows in the icon column in the forum:

How do I remove the icon? I tried editing the first post in that thread in advanced settings and set to No icon, which got rid of the icon for the post, but the icon still shows in the forum icon column for that thread.
