Hong Kong Idea for next HK RFF Meeting

Hi everyone,

Here is my idea for the next HK RFF meeting (unless you do one before I come back). We should make the most of our fully manual cameras so NO meter allowed, the only metering should be done using our eyes and not relying on electronic componants. To do so, I propose to use the Exposure Mat from Dave Harris (http://expomat.tripod.com/) during the whole session.

We could use whatever camera (RF, SLR, dSLR, dRF,...) and film (b&w, colour, SD card, CF card,...) we want but we should all use the Exposure Mat.

Let me know what you think about it. I leave the location up to you, although I would quite like a good session a food market shooting!

So here we go, prepare your paper, scissors and glue and start making your lightmeter!!!! I should be back around mid-april (possibly before that).

PS: and how about a trip to Macau (historic tour and gastronomic diner with loads of portuguese wine!)...:D

On Saturday I will be in the East China Sea somewhere between Okinawa and Nagasaki off Amani Island!!!!!! I still don't know when I will be back, but certainly not before the second week of April.

What a pity Max ! I thought you were back ! You have such a great suggestion of our next gathering, I am so sorry to miss you again..... but anyway, we will hijack your idea. :D

So friends, let us do the 'Guesstimation Day' project, and allow me add more constraints on the project :

1. No DC, film cameras only.
2. No mobile phone with camera functions :D
3. No light meters.
4. No cameras with light meters.
5. Don't ask for readings from neighbouring photographers.
6. Don't ask for settings from neighbouring photographers.

21/3 and 22/3 is good for me, so where should we go ?

Welcome back ! Now we can do our "Guesstimation challenge" !

How about we limit our tools to screw mount meterless mechanical cameras only, he he ..
 
Dingo, that's a good idea except I don't have any srewmount meterless camera!

But I do have a new toy that needs to see some light!!!
 
Alright! So where do we go to shoot? Macau? Or somewhere in Hong Kong?

BTW, I have a new toy, too! Meterless, with bellows!
 
April 19, right? I would like to join this one, too.

BTW, my only meterless "portable" camera is my Pentacon 6. I was dead after a slight drop inside the camera bag in Kyoto in December. May I have you guys' permission to spare me from the meterless rule. I'll have to bring my 4x5 + tripod otherwise. :D Not an impressive combination for Macau trip, right?
 
Honpan ! Good to hear from you ! I think as long as your gears eat film, bring them out.

BTW, is it too rush to go to Macau for a one-day-trip ?
