I use a simple bag made by Slow Tools in Osaka (similar to the one in the photo)...I got it more than 10 years ago when Adam Marelli was advertising for them. Similar bags are made by Filson in the USA ...or other countries as cartridge bags for shooters. I can fit a Leica M and a couple of lenses as well as my Voightlander Perkeo, some film & meter. Solid materials and a soft unstructured case. I use Domke wraps to separate a few items. Especially useful to me is the full length pocket on the back and the thin full pocket on the front just under the strap. The narrow leather strap doesn't slip and is long enough to carry cross-body at time.....much prefer it to the Bilinghams i had.

My first Billingham Alice lasted 20 years of hard use. I took it all over the world. It fit perfectly inside my backpack so two Leicas each with lenses mounted go on the overhead bin protected. One of the leather latches split at the hole. I could have gotten it fixed but bought another. It can also fit two Mamiya Six bodies collapsed with lenses on.

I had a Tenba, two Tamracks, a handmade leather bag, Lowepro Reporter AW, Domke F2, F6, F831, and a Think Tank.
All that bag buying stopped when I got my Billingham.

Tenba Cooper 8.
One for the M9, the other for the Monochrom. Camera and lens, and two more lenses each. Often just with two lenses total for weight. Silent Velcro flap on the Tenba, and direct access through zipper under a seam on top. Excellent comfortable shoulder straps.

To celebrate my 80th birthday last year I bought a Wotancraft "Pilot" 2L for my M6 and I couldn't be happier with it. I have four compact lenses for the M6, a Color-Scopar 21/4, a Summicron 35/2v4. a Color-Scopar 50/2.5 and a Tele-Elmarit 90/2.8. I can comfortably fit the camera with either the 50 or the 35 in one compartment and two lenses back to back in the other along with a filter wallet and a spare roll of film. It is really comfortable to carry and is not bulky due to the thin closed cell foam padding. Mine is khaki canvas and looks more like a "man bag" than a camera bag. I think it is the perfect bag for a compact kit.

I use a Belroy sling, not the 9L camera one but can fit MP with 35 along with film and flash but could get another lens in if the flash wasn’t there
