Identification

I wonder if this might be the correct forum to help identify this miniature camera?
It belongs to a friend who's had it for years but knows nothing about it. Smaller than a roll of 35mm- he claims that it is still operational.

It sort of resembles a cross between a Krafta Sida or Sidex camera and a miniature aerial reconnaissance camera.

I'm trying to visualize scale based on the zipper handles in the background. Is it indeed a camera? A sub-miniature spy camera? A very curious design. Any other photos or angles?

Looks like something on this idea but with black enamel wrinkle paint and ruggedized design. A curiosity for sure.

It looks tiny, at first I thought it was scratch built but the mouldings are too good and the crinkle finish looks 'factory'. Something military perhaps? Does it have a pheon on it?

(You might need to Google that one!)

Thanks I did google and I`ve sent the owner a message .

Here's a thought, Michael. Does it look like it could be mounted on a set of binoculars?

PF

Ooh ,that is a thought .
It`s certainly small enough.
I `m trying to think what that could be for .
The only other info I have is that he`s had it for ,must be,40 years and apparently was his fathers so its probably easily pre `50`s /.

If the rusty tab is a shutter and it is small enough for 16mm (maybe) and it would need to be loaded in the dark (because there is no backwind), I still don't know what it is.

Looking forward to more pics.
