I've been looking at image cataloguing programs ("DAMs") recently, but had trouble finding any that supported the R-D1 (well, what a surprise!).
I've always liked idImager, but unfortunately it didn't support R-D1 raw files, until now.
After speaking to the owner and providing some raw files, they supplied a beta version with R-D1 raw support for me to test - it worked fine, and the new version of idImager released this week now supports the R-D1 (among other changes)
Anyway, thought I'd post this in case anyone's interested...

As reported in another thread, many applications (incl. Photoshop) that work fine with R-D1 raw files can't open R-D1s ones. idImager is one of these.
I'm in contact with Hertwig, the developer of idImager, and sent him some sample R-D1s files - he's now on the job:

I'll post news on this issue as and when...I just checked the files against the latest DCRAW release which is included in the next IDI update. Unfortunately the files are not supported yet, but on the positive side: IDI doesn't hang on them, but creates an error (red cross) thumbnail.
I have passed your samples on to David Coffin (author of dcraw) and hopefully they'll provide him with enough information to add support for it soon. I'm sure he'll keep me posted.

Thanks Rich,
The program I use with R-D1 files (and others) is Breezebrowser Pro (http://www.breezesys.com) and I've contacted Chris Breeze, the author, about R-D1S support as well.
Now...let's hope the firmware upgrade uses the same tags or we'll need to do this all over again. I'll bet the changed tag has to do with hot pixel mapping.
Cheers,
Sean

Sean, hi, can you tell me if there's a way that Breezebrowser shows more than thumbnails from ERF files? I'm using 1.4.2.
thanks
Phil
