I don't have them hanging on the wall but she's cool with my keeping negs and prints. After all she's the one that wound up with me. All of the images are nice and artistic though.![]()
The problem with photos of old girlfriends is they are all so much younger! And so beautiful.
Now if the photos aged, there would be far less problem.

Wimp! I like 12x15...Same here. Love LF and still shoot 8x10.
Seriously, there is something magic about a ground glass the size of an old-fashioned TV screen, isn't there? And to be honest, I shoot a lot more 5x7 inch/ 13x18 cm/ half plate than bigger formats.
To be still more honest, I find it very hard to tell a 3x enlargement off Linhof 6x7 (57x72 mm) from a whole-plate contact print...

Learn BW in 1992, not in 2012.
This ^^^. I was shooting mainly color in the 60s and 70s (lots of Agfachrome 50), but I feel like I've learned more about photography since I started shooting BW and developing my own film a few years ago. It would have been nice to have begun that learning process earlier in my life.
I also regret not developing a better organizing system for my slides and negatives.
I also regret not using my Nikon F more in the 1980s, to take photos of family and friends. If I'd used it more, I would have taken better care of it, and it probably wouldn't have been stolen from my house by a workman in the early 1990s.

Wimp! I had a 12x20 for several years but it was so large it wasn't fun to work with so I sold it.
Back in the day before drum scanners when we shot all catalog pages to scale using acetates on the GG I shot most couple page spreads on 11x14 Ektachrome. My 11x14 was smaller than the 12x20 but still was a beast and was t much fun to use. Having gotten the size envy out of my system I'm quite happy with my 8x10 Deardorff.
I find I shoot a lot of 5x7 as well. Sadly I sold my Durst Laborator 138 in anticipation of retirement and a move across the country to a much smaller house. Thinking back about changes, I wouldn't have sold the Durst.
I agree a moderate enlargement up to 14 or so inches from a 6x9 Meg is hard to tell from an 8x10 contact. Over the decades I've owned a Technika 70 system, Technika V 2x3 and a Technikardan 23 that was my platform for my Hasselblad digital back. All were wonderful cameras but the Technikardan was supreme. It excelled with wide lenses such as the 35mm Apo Grandagon, 47 XL and 58 XL Schneiders I had. I do regret selling this system.

Some of my negs have aged and now have a slight yellow tint. It's really kind of weird when you realize youve been shooting so long your negs are showing their age. Of course I'm not showing my age
In the past few years ive had several of the girls I knew find me and email me. My wife is cool with this and not jealous in the least. It was great to hear from them and see what had happened since the 60's and 70's. Two of them sent pictures and the looked pretty good even 45 years later.

Take more photos of family. Carry a camera more often. Go out of my way to make photo opportunities.

The best camera is one that still works!
I would have started taking photos a lot earlier in life and not the ten years ago that I first got a camera. I now have this horrible sensation of running out of time!

I can only imagine the S**T storm my ex would have inflicted. I had a girlfriend that used to call once in a while and that triggered it very time eventhough I didn't talk to her. I foolishly made the mistake of introducing my ex to her before we were married. My ex girlfriend decided to test the relationship by sitting on my lap in front of wha eventually became my first wife and ex.
Sometimes it's not only cameras were stupid about. Come to think about it I met my ex through photography. Thats certainly one thing I'd change. My wife now was one of my clients. Se was creative director for a department store chain. This Is one I'd never change. She's absolutely urge best! We're now coming up on 22 great years.

This reminds me of a stuarion that happened a few years ago near where I live. While the husband slept in on Sunday morning the wife got up to go to church. Before getting ready for church she walked into her child's room and took a baseball bat. She walked into the bedroom where her husband was sleeping and beat hm to death with it. After discarding the bat in the field behind the house she showered and dressed for church. She went to church that morning as though nothing has happened.

I just took the dusty baseball bats stored with other junk in the basement and threw them in the trunk of the car. Next stop... Salvation Army resale store.

Oh yeah, besides Kodachrome, I would have shot more of the Kodak BW400CN too. Man, a lot of good Kodak films have been cancelled, because no one shot the "Professional" priced ones.

No joke! I remember all the great films available back in the 60's when I got started. Ektapan, Royal X Pan, Verichrome and Verichrome pan, Super Pancro Press Type B, 2475 Recording film, Plus X, Royal Pan, Super XX and Panatomic X to name a few. I long for the old formula TX too. The new stuff in the last ten years is junk compared to the original formulation. In color the original 25 Kodachrome from the 60's was beautiful but the Kodachrome X looked terrible. The E3 version of Ektachrome professional 64 was stunning as was Ektachrome X. Later E6 Ektachrome EPR 64 was beautiful and really loved the 100 G and VR films.
Sad isn't it.

Here are just some of the discontinued films. I think this list misses some of your mentions. I used Panatomic X in the Navy, and it was a great film. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_discontinued_photographic_films#Kodak_Films

I just dug out some Chrome from my freezer to shoot this weekend. I have a few assorted rolls but not much left. I have a roll of Provia 36exp, 5 rolls of provia 400, a roll of Ektachrome 100G and GX and that's about it. The problem now is finding a good lab. I ran my own for years and had a Colenta processor. I did enough in the studio to justify it. When I bought the Colenta my lab and E6 bill was right at $100,000 a year and most was 120 up to 8x10. I had a very active business at that time. I have to say I really miss the beauty of transparencies.
After I closed my big studio down in 2000 and moved from 6000sq ft to 1200sq ft I shut down E6 processing too and sent all my film to E6 of Atlanta. By far the had the best E6 I've ever seen. Every roll was the same from run to tun and was brilliant looking. They also knew how to evaluate clip tests for me and follow instructions. I'm sad to say they closed last year.
In th elist was Ektachrome Lumiere 100 and Ektachrome 200. The Lumiere was a transition film from EPP and EPR to the new technology films 100G, GX, VR. I shot a lot of Lumiere but had to rate it at 80 or 64 and never really like the color. It wasn't a great film IMO. The 200 was terrible IMO and hardly ever used it.
Remember the 200 Kodachrome? I did trade trial testing for Kodak and 200 Kodachrome was one of the fils I tested before it hit the market.
I got to see a lot of emulsions prior to production. I tested the original 100 and 400 TMax and shot hand coated rolls with unmarked black paper backing in 120. Actually the early test film was terrible. It was so thick it actually damaged Hasselblad and Rollei SL66 backs. I tested it in my SL66's and had constant problems. I wound up having 7 back rebuilt. The base was too thick to curve around the rollers. From my testing and a couple of others Kodak thinned the base by 50%. Even at that I felt it was way too thick. I think it's been thinned once since then.
I also did trade trial testing for Ilford and tested preproduction Delta 100 and 400. Fantastic films and was so good it pulled me away from Agfa 100 as my standard film.
I do miss the Efke / Adox KB14 and 17 (25 and 100). I have about 30 rolls of Efke 25 35mm in the freezer waiting for a special day.
It's not only been film from Kodak, Efke, Adox, Agfa, Dupont and Ansco are all gone. They made great film and paper.
Speaking of paper much of it has gone but there are some fabulous papers on th market now. They're some of the best fiber papers I've seen in decades. Though I do miss Dupont Varilour R and RW, Ektalure G, Kodabromide, Medalist, Velox, Azo, Ansco Indigo, Dupont Varigam and a few others. In the 50's and 60's Dupont was king IMO and they made so many papers and surfaces. The even made a triple weight fiber paper.
