Inspired by a few threads skirting this question .....

If digital stopped existing 😀 and in place of your current digital camera(s) there was an equivalent pile of cash in your bag, and if we caught up to you shooting pictures next week, what camera body would you be holding?

In my case, probably a "user grade" Leica M6 loaded with Tri-X (my long forgotten friend). "What lens?" I'd have to think more about.

Hi Dave,
When I found myself "slipping into a digital path", I bought a SWC to make it very tempting to me to return to using film cameras. I have also recently added a Polaroid Land camera for the same reason. It is a balance.

If you think hard about what is it that film has to offer which digital cannot touch, I think it boils down to factors like: slower photography, more thoughtful composition, one FL, B&W, archival quality, great tonality, iconic mechanical gear. In one word: Rolleiflex.

I'll just take my Eos RT out of the other bag and started shooting. 😀 But I might add a Fuji GX680III to the pile.

I'm a younger guy, and I started with digital and have progressively gone into primarily film shooting. My primary camera right now is a mamiya c330 but I'd be happy with just about any TLR with a good lens.

M6 is what I have now. I'd like to add a M2 as well. The two best bodies I've ever owned in my 27 short years. The D700 is the best digital I've ever used and comes in 3rd overall.

Haven't made the jump to digital but in a similar way I am trekking my way back to using SLR's over rangefinders. I'm going to start a project using my Canon FD for the work but I've been eyeing that Nikon F3 thread. I love the look of that Nikon F3P. Didn't realize Nikon made such a camera.
So money being no object I'd love to grab one with perhaps a 50 & 35mm lens. That's the 2 focal lengths I'm cozy with.

I do not have a lot of money invested in up-to-date digital cameras and quite often leave those untouched for long periods (except my cell phone camera). But if I had no film cameras at all, and was starting fresh, I'd go back to where it all started: an Olympus OM-1 and a few Zuiko lenses, starting with the 50/1.4.

M2

M2

Have not left film as there are 2 M2's, R6.2, Nikon F in the cabinet. It would be an M2 in a rangefinder. If allowed a second body, then the Nikon F.

Everything since has bells and whistles on it that are not really needed.

Both my M2's are coming back from getting a new covering to replace the 56 year old vulcanite. Am always amazed at how fast Ye is on turnaround. He had the cameras for three days.

Voiglander Vito B, Rollei 35, Yashica Lynx 14, Canon MC, fotoaparat Tokareva FT-2, Zorki 1, Zorki 4, FED 2, Canon 7, IIIf, M3, M6, CL, Zeiss Ikon ZI, R4, R6.2, Praktica B, Praktica VLC2, OM-1, Rolleiflex T, Rolleiflex 2.8 F, Tele Rolleiflex, Fujica G690, Globica... all still in use, more or less 😎
