Hi,

Please can anyone tell me if it is possible to fit a dioptre on the viewfinder of the IIIf & IIIg (also II) ?
I'm quite short sighted & really struggle to see through any of my Leicas viewfinders with specs on (can't see edges) or off (anything beyond 3' is out of focus).
I'm having to use my Zorki 4K which is relatively easy to see through with specs off in order to use my Leitz glass, which is a waste of the Leica bodies I have.
Any info greatly appreciated 🙂

Cheers,
Colin

Colin, you are blessed! Anything past 5 inches is out of focus for me.

I don't have insurmountable problems in focusing either my IIIf or my Zorki 4 with glasses or with my contacts. I couldn't focus either with my naked eyes though.

Maybe you need glasses that fit closer to your face like mine do which are metal rimmed with small diameter lenses of high refractive glass. They are great.

The best & fastest viewing is when wearing my contacts though.

As far as I know there are no diopters available for the Leica thread mounts. However, an expert optician could probably figure out something.

Besk,

I find the 4K really easy - just put my specs on top of my head & the built in dioptre works fine.
The leica's I really struggle with though - fine to focus with the built in dioptre with specs off but look through the viewfinder & it's all a blur!
It's so frustrating they never built the dioptre into the vf as well as the rf :^{
