Has some sort of lens on it too. Is that a 3.5 Elmar? My $461 was denied. Damn commute, I would have worked up the courage to win that had I known sooner.

I thought there was once a "gentlepersons agreement" here not to discuss bids during the process in case one or more member is bidding?

So did anybody here get it? :) I'd be very curious to know what state it's actually in. I've never seen a IIIg go for so little, even without a lens.

Wow have IIIG's dropped in value. I sold a mint one eight years ago for $2,000 with no lens. A guy in Hong kong bought it. I had a coll. summicron that I sold seperate from the body for $500. I can't believe how some of the LTM bodies and even some of the M's have dropped. I guess all the collectors have what they want and everyone else only thinks digital. Good for us!

It just sold for $507.11. I missed it, which is great because I don't need another camera.

I missed it by a couple of minutes. God knows what I would have done with it. Oh, I know. Put on my cv 35/2.5 and see if it works. Wait. It had a lens...

Once in a while, a IIIg will go for a similar amount, presumably when all of the avid bidders are distracted elsewhere.

I was lucky this way several years ago.

Also, it was apparently a Monday auction. Prices are always cheaper then since most auctions end on Sunday night.

The bargains are the weekdays - that's becasue "newbie" and naive sellers don't realize that Sunday night is the big night both for sales and 7-day postings! :D

The IIIg was sold by a real "who knows" seller. 8 sales, all so old that you can't even tell what they were selling. Could have serious problems. Can't tell what lens, but I'll guess 3.5cm Elmar because of the thick mounting flange.

As for the IIIc, it's a "rear lens cap" in that auction -- I think the Nikkor lens is a bigger draw.
