IIIG users -please help

I have recently acquired a IIIG in nice condition. The brightline frames in the finder move vertically for parallax compensation; in most other rangefinder cameras that I have used the frames move sort of diagonally. Can anyone confirm if this is normal behaviour for the IIIG? Thanks!

Yes this is normal. (The viewfinder is pretty close to the lens axis on the IIIg compared with the M series.) Expert Leica repairer Malcolm Taylor told me this when the frames in mine weren't moving at all.
