ikon problems

I just notice that my framelines are moving in viewfinder when I am focusing the lens ?

Has anyone experienced anything similar ?

I think my Ikon will need to be sent to Zeiss for service, am I correct ?

You may be describing parallax compensation, that is, as the focal distance changes, the framelines adjust to provide a 'more accurate' view of frame. Is this your first RF by any chance?

Indeed. SLR user here, and Ikon is my first RF. There is 35/2 ZM lens connected to the camera and when focusing from infinity towards minimal focus distance I can see 35mm framelines moving toward bottom right corner of the viewfinder.

I previously used 50mm lens and hasn't noticed anything, hence I was suprised by seeing this... so you say what I am seeing is parralax compensation in viewfinder ?

Another excellent lens, the 2/35 ZM. The synchronized movement of the framelines while focusing is normal.

Depending on the lens and the focal length, the amount the framelines move around in the viewfinder may vary. Plus, the Ikon has that big bright viewfinder, so the effect may simply be greater with the 2/35.

But of course I have no idea what I'm talking about.

I think that's one problem we can all live with and love to have. 😛

Perfectly normal, it would be broken if it weren't doing that. It's called parallax correction, as you focus closer or further, the angle of view changes slightly, the frames move in and out to try to let you know that. However, it's a rangefinder, so these are guides really.
