Hellow All!
This is my first posting on this forum so, please be patient. I recently aquired a very nice Mess Ikonta 524/16. Everything is perfect but, the vertical alignment, in the rangefinder, does not line up. As long as I focus on a "vertical element", it's OK. Is this normal or, can it be adjusted to bring both the horizontal and vertical elements in line? I can use it "as is" but, if it can be done, I would like to "get it right". One other thing, just for "opinions' sake"; does the Canon AL-1 qualify as a rangefinder camera? Thank you and, I really enjoy all the "chatter" on this forum.

Frank, my Mess 524/16 had the same problem and was adjusted by a local repair shop, as for the Canon AL-1 the one I had was an SLR.

Thanks for the reply Brince. Well, now I know it can be adjusted. I wonder how much there is to making the adjustment and if I could do it myself. As for the Canon AL-1; it actually uses a rangefinder system to indicate the focus status and, I thought I would just throw that idea out on this forum to generate "opinionated chatter"
Again, thank you for your information.
