I'm looking for a place (N. America preferred) that will make REAL prints, on Cibachrome/Ilfochrome paper, from my Kodachromes/Ektachromes from days of yore (Sixties onward). 'Way back in the 80's I used a USA place called LaserColor. Their deal was that their enlarger-head had 3-color lasers for a light source and the printed on C'chrome.

Anymore, everything seems to be scanned, the inkjetted. Other than the fellow in Kent, UK, I can't find anybody. Any guidance appreciated.

Thanks, I'll check them out

Thanks - I'll check them out. My hope is that for slide-to-print/positive I/Cchrome is still the way to go. As I recall it's the color-chemistry half of the old Ilford that went over to Switzerland.

C prints are not Ciba/Ilfochrome.

OT, but I used to do Cibachromes in the days of the first gen material. It was fiddly (at least for me) but when you got a good print, oh my! Especially Kodachromes were spectacular. If I ever reconstitute a full darkroom, I'd love to do Ilfochrome again.

Still have my Ciba gear, vintage Seventies

I still have all my Cibachrome kit from the Seventies. It came with one ( 1 ) box of paper. My Vivitar E54 was great - I still have all the gels, etc. After some foodling around I did end up with some vivid stuff - British Redcoat Bicenten re-enactor (this was Philly area) plus some dog show stuff, maybe a macro shot of a dewy rose blossom.

Glad I saved the developing tank - will come in handy if I ever get around to large format negs.

Dear Customer,
ILFOCHROME Classic has been a flagship brand within the ILFORD range of products for well over forty years. The importance of this range is underlined by the fact that ILFORD has continued to manufacture this product even though overall demand has decreased significantly over the last few years. The reduction in volume has led to higher production costs that have been further exacerbated by the dramatic increase in the cost of silver.
Unfortunately, the combination of low demand and higher raw material and production costs has left us no alternative but to discontinue the ILFOCHROME CLASSIC materials and related P3/P3X chemistry.
The affected products are:
ILFOCHROME CLASSIC
CLEAR DISPLAY FILM – CC.F7
TRANSLUCENT DISPLAY FILM – CT.F7
DELUXE GLOSSY MEDIUM CONTRAST – CLM.1K DELUXE GLOSSY NORMAL CONTRAST – CPS.1K
We understand the importance of these products to you and your business, and therefore, if there is sufficient demand, we are proposing a final production. We would like to offer you the opportunity to make a final purchase with the following conditions:
• An official purchase order will need to be placed by 30thNovember 2011.
• Will hold the pre-ordered rolls in storage until June 2013.
• ILFORD Payments for the order can be made in monthly installments.
As indicated, ILFORD has fully absorbed the high raw material and production and unfortunately we are unable to do this for the final production. Therefore, we will need to increase our supply price to you by 30% However, this price will be held
between now and June 2013 and covers all storage and inventory costs.
We would like to thank you for your understanding with this situation and if you have any questions or need any further information, please contact
Mr. Christian Neumann (Tel: +41 26 435 7504)
We look forward to continue serving you in the future Yours sincerely

Must be in denial.
talk to him if you want the real scoop
it is a great material, and internet rumors of its demise will be likely to hasten it. the short story is that it will be around for at least another 3 years but send an email or talk to Frank for details i have many prints that frank made from 4 by 5 velvia including 40 by 50 inch prints.

That's good news. I've been meaning to print my 'best of' using it. I have a local acquaintance who was a printer (laments the end of dye-transfer) and is a master with ciba that I was hoping to tap for tips.
