I think the cookie can results are an effect of the larger diameter pinhole (it's a sharp hole though, nice clean edges) and the curved focal plane which causes some odd/interesting results in focus and visual distortions.
I've not done any of the Portra yet, it finally arrived though so I can give it a whirl. I got the 400 so I can do some exposures when the sun isn't blazing and not have to wait for hours. I am hoping to do a shot this evening when the sun is right, pointed approx in the same direction as the above morning backyard shot.
Looking forward to seeing how this camera does with color film. I had considered trying a chunk of 35mm or 120 cut to fit in the camera and centered for test purposes since it's easier to deal with. I might try some of that as well. I think a landscape mode shot on 35mm or 120 would be outstanding w this camera's sharp pinhole and results.
