Just ran two rolls of PanF in Ilfosol-S at 1:14, they're drying now, seemed to control that PanF contrast pretty well (I did give a little pull too- iso32). Anybody have experience with this stuff and efke 25 or FP4?

I developed my first roll with Ilfosol-S, but I never found it particularly special in any way. It seemed a bit grainy, if anything. It also doesn't have much of a shelf life. I pretty much stick to D-76 and Microphen nowadays.

Ilfosol S is supposed to be better suited for slower films, but then again "better" is completely subjective.

Like Bob said, it's got a very short shelf life, so once you've opened up the bottle, be sure to use it up within 4-6 months. You'll know it's expired because it'll be a dark brown instead of the bright yellow it is when it's fresh.

I agree with Bob and sienarot, it was the developer I started off "doing my own" with last year. D76 and DDX have been better for me.
