Yeah that's right, i'm a newbie but eversince i found this site and i'm around everyday, sometimes more than 6 times/day...I love this site, the gallery, the forumers, it's cool...

But what's cooler 😛 is that i'm goin on vacation, i'm goin to Sharm el Sheikh, it's gonna be fun, i'll be doing some snorkeling maybe i'll learn diving...And maybe i should get one of those single use cameras that can be used underwater...The road to sharm is great, specially with the mmorning colors, so i'll guess i'll be having fun shooting also...

See u next week guys. 😉

As they told me when I planned my trip to Cuba last year.
Buy large amounts of film! Film is cheap and you can always save on the souveniers at the airport 🙂
And in any case, have fun!

Have fun, Nomade. Egypt is one place I am dying to visit. Maybe someday soon!!

Be careful what you wish for! Not long ago Sharm was a target for yet another suicide bomber, leaving many dead.

Anyway, nomade, have fun! And shoot to chill! 🙂

Thx guys

Don't worry, Sharm is safe for now...Basically there's no safe place around the world these days.

And i think i'll be able to scan the photos finally, there'll be a scanner and my laziness will no longer be an excuse...

Ciao Ciao.

I'm just back, it was a cool vacation...I enjoyed this, there were marvellous scenes, on the ground and under water...There are 7 rolls of film, one of them was underwater(and i'm not even sure of what i shot down there)

So i'll process them, scan them, and share them with u, as soon as possible..

Alright well, the pics are coming soon, i've no scanner currently, but i'll scan then asap...I've just recieved them from the lab.

But there r a couple of questions because i've almost no knowledge of the processing issue, well i bought a c-41 B&W kodak film called BW400CN so it could be processed like a normal color film or that's what i understood...But a T-max would be a bit more expensive than the other films, so the lab i'm dealing with doesn't developpe B&W and they sent it to kokdak thinking that it's the same as T-max, what was wierd that kodak's lab also thought the same thing...There's one who processes and the cashier, so this guy thought it was a normal B&W means it's more expensive...The issue was that if i bought this film for a reason it's only because it should be cheaper nontheless i'd have bought a tmax, it's at least abundant everywhere...

The question is, how come that no one noticed it's a different type of film???

The other thing is i noticed that the frames weren't cut properly, there's usually a dark line in the top or bottom of a frame, why is that??? Something wasn't aligned correctly???

Welcome back, and hope you had a great vacation! The answer to this question is that apparently nobody bothered to look on the film cartridge where it very clearly says "Process C41".

For lab workers that don't know about chromogenic B&W films, "Black & White Film" and "Process C41" seems contradictory. I've seen that confusion here too. So it helps for the consumer to point out that "Process C41" text to the clerk when dropping off the film.

Thx, it was great...It's been a while since the last time i had a week sacred for relaxing and having fun...

But how did they process it correctly?? How didn't that affect the negative??

I'm guessing when they sent it to Kodak, someone there caught the mistake and processed your film correctly.

Since these people obviously don't know squat about B&W film, I'd consider using a different lab in the future. Mail order is a good idea. Check out Dale Labs or Dwayne's Photo. You'll have to wait a little longer to get your pics back, but both do excellent work. Dwaynes will also develop regular B&W film as well as C-41.

Nomade, it occurs to me to wonder which Alexandria you're based in? If that's Alexandria Egypt and you're using local labs or outlets, that could be part of the confusion... We shouldn't assume you're in Alexandria Virginia, I suppose, as there's Alexandrias in Louisiana, Indiana, Minnesota, Scotland, and Rumania as well!

There r 7 cities with the name Alexandria indeed, my mistake 😀

But u know what??? I'll use ur advice and look for another lab, seriously!!
I feel bad, the guy is very ill informed, and he's not a beginner, he has been working in this field for more than 30 years and yesterday talks was irritating, it'd be more convenient to deal with someone who actually knows better...I'm just a beginner and i don't have much experienceor knowledge but i don't like to be ignorant, and i stood there yesterday explaining to the guy the difference between a film like Tmax and the film i gave him, and the layers that form each and the reaosn why they did it...And still he didn't believe me, but i'm goin to give him the data sheet tomorrow...!

Talking about B&W, have any one heard of a german Tura?? Also a c-41 film...

Doing stuff like that is how you become an expert. Good luck!
