Hi list...first message after sometime lurking and learning.

My GS arrived yesterday and without the battery fix so I went to test it in a sunny day in AUTO and without power....got only 2 underexposed pics (1/500 is really very fast !)....

then with new film I tryed the Flash setting to reduce speed and shot from 1.7 to 11, near and far, trying to bracketing a little.

Boy.....oh boy....all the pics came from the lab in outstanding shape....how is that possible? Really that scarried me !!! I'm impressed with it....maibe some japanese good spirit resides inside my GS...

I would appreciate a lot your comments

If that "thing" really scares you, I would suggest getting it out of the house, and FAST!
I'll send you my address....... :)

Well, a lot of variables, but 1/500 your pics were underexposed. On the Flash setting, you're setting the shutter to 1/30th and there's enough light. Film has a lot of latitude. Hey, get a battery, roll up some aluminum foil and futz with it a little to get it to make contact, and shoot proper.

Hi Nick...

Shoot proper? ALL the pics were correctly exposed using a Kodak ProImage 100...just the DOF changed.....really amazing camera....I shot that way because I did not found 4LC44R batteries....we are in Carnival and everything is closed

I just imagine what that camera can do with batteries...

I got a Canon G9, shooting 12 mp RAW and it did not impressed me that way...maibe the japanese loosed the hand....don't they?

JL - welcome to the forum. You can use 4 LR44 batteries in a stack if you have them and if you cannot find the proper single battery. Post some photos when you have a chance - let's see that lens in action.

Personally, I'm afraid of the other.
