Scorpius, I agree you handled this well. The issue isn't what you didn't take pictures of but what you chose to photograph. I also take a lot of postcard type building shots. Yours were really good. I sold my G2 last year and now regret it, 'cause those Zeiss lenses are excellent. Thanks for sharing.

Focusing on only landscapes, buildings and objects can be very relaxing.

At present (used) prices Contax G is the bargain in Rangefinder town. One can have a nice Contax G outfit with several lenses for the price of a single M6 body. At present M8 prices and with the Epson being dead, rangefinder photography means film for most of us, the non existence of a digital G is hardly an argument for Rangefinder enthusiasts.

Couldn't agree more. There are days when I'm up for street photography and pointing myself in people's faces, and others when I'd rather chill and compose slowly and carefully, waiting until any human element is removed from the composition and I capture a pristine architectural or landscape moment.
I haven't been to Puerto Rico since the early 80s, but when I was going I went about once a month for a couple of years. Viejo San Juan has certainly been cleaned up since then, I can tell you! You brought back a lot of memories! Good ones! Thanks!

I only wish I could go to Viejo San Juan once a month. You are a lucky man. If I'm lucky I will be able to make it back every other year. I'd love to see your photos of the 1980's San Juan.

You are probably smart to leave the people out. Always problems w/ people. The shots look very good. I love these G cameras.

How many is enough?
I kind of agree with the poster that was critical of the no people aspect. What makes the photos beautiful is the fact that they're beautiful, colorful buildings, not beautifully created photos. The total lack of people makes this seem like it could be a book of real estate ads. There's beauty, but no warmth. I don't feel it, I guess. True, we're learning about architecture, but not the island, the people.

i thought i would post them for people who want to see pics from the contax g cameras. it wasnt my intention to show the everyday life in puerto rico.
i think a few shots have people walking down the street. but for the most part, i just happened to be around when people just werent in those places. honest. really. im not joking. :bang: hard to believe but true.
but in the end. theyre just my shots to look at and wish i was there. and not at work.

before i post photos again. ill make sure people are on the street though. in 30 years, i can look back and say "wow people really dressed like that." thats what i do when i see pics at my moms house. its alot of fun to see outfits from the 1970's.
the g cameras are great. im glad i decided to keep mine and add the 28 and 90mm lenses.
