Just trying to be honest. The GAS has been very easy to fight off for a while now, so yes content. But not done.

That's a beautiful kit, Frank. After getting an M2 over the summer, I thought I was done.
Then back alley's 40 appeared for sale...
OK, I think I'm done... for now.

good stuff, there.
when the bug bites, it's not an easy fever to get rid of. picked up my first leica (m7) and 40mm nokton a few weeks ago hoping that would do me for a while. well, i just received the 28mm f/1.9 ultron and canon 50 f/1.4 ltm that i couldn't resist. still on the way is the 5cm summitar and hexanon 50mm f/1.2 that i just had to have. i need medication...

Why be done? I don't see the point. Content for the time being sure- but done?

I like my steak "well done", but this does not apply to my camera gear status.

raid...raid....steak should only be "rare"....
"well done" is "ruined" to me. But then I don't have any Leicas either...so there.

There is a wisdom in gear asceticism that does not play well in our man-as-consumer society, but it still rings true for me. I think it is a sign of strength for a man to place limits on himself, especially if he is able to hold the line.

Thanks Thomas. Your Summaron 2.8 completed the lens selection. An MDa was supposed to be the wide angle platform, but I can live with the CL for that.
When I feeel more basic/elemental, here is my screw mount kit. Just 35mm and various 50s including a Brian S converted Zeiss Sonnar.

If subject matter is what's on one's mind, then I think the gear acquisition will take care of itself.

i am completely content with my film kit, i love the 21 and the 25 and the 35 and the 50 sonnar, the zeiss ikon and the r4a...perfect for me and i have not been tempted in months to add anything, only to edit out (cle kit).
with the advent of the g1 and m adapter i may even be content with that as my digital m kit.
