I find myself getting rid of more and more stuff lately as I become a more focused shooter. I know precisely what I want and I'm pretty close to having it. After I get it then I will be done for the rest of my life.

The best camera is one that still works!
If subject matter is what's on one's mind, then I think the gear acquisition will take care of itself.
That and unemployment!

Done .... Well that's relative. Looking at your two M2, a rapid-winder comes to my mind.

How many times have I said that? Good luck to you! I thought I was done last week but then bought a Rolleiflex 3.5F White Face.

Nice kit, but I'm never done. At least I've gone 3 sigmas off standard deviation. So now my stuff isn't so costly. Here is a recent example.

Everyone has different taste buds. Digital doesn't do it for me. I've tried a TA rapid winder. It was excellent, but I don't shoot in a style that requires one. I've been through a lot of different photo gear and for my shooting needs, there isn't any piece of gear out there that I desire. MPs sound like great cameras but are far too expensive for me to rationalize a purchase. Same with Noctiluxes. If I happen to come across a great deal on something then I won't walk away, but it would have to be an extraordinary deal. like a Nikon SP at a garage sale.

Had one, but I prefer the versatility of a camera with 35mm framelines.

I don't want to be "done". I find it quite enjoyful to rotate among lenses and cameras. Some need one car while others have three.

, just no desire for In my case Raid, I've gone through many cars, and these are my favourite drives that I've either never sold or ones that I have sold and later re-bought.
I have several medium format cameras as well, but these are my main, serious 35mm RF cameras. There is a pre-war Contax with lenses on my shelf. And I have to declare a Hexar RF wth 40 Nocti for low light or when photography is not my main preoccupation. There are a couple of Rollei 35s as well. Still lots of cars to drive, just no desire for other cars that I don't have.

I'm done until I have more money.. is that acceptable?
Frank, I'm pretty sure I remember another thread or two by you saying I'm Done.. what happened those times?

I went through a period of buying/selling/trading and I can say I am now done. I've owned a lot of REALLY nice cameras and lenses and although it's fun to get a new piece of gear in the mail it just got distracting. Also, while it was nice to be able to reach into my bag and have multiple focal lengths to choose from I rarely changed lenses. I've finally settled on an M4-2 with a 35/2 Biogon and nothing but a Y-Strap with some film in my pocket. I really like not carrying a camera bag, I never really found one I liked and I always felt awkard with them. I still browse the classifieds every day but I never feel any GAS pains. I might add a 50 Summicron to the mix later on but right now I don't feel the need to do so.

Back then , I still hadn't tried a Leica M6 or M5, or the post-war Contax. Had to get those out of my system.

I am streamlining what I have by selling a few items and getting specific items to complete my ultimate set one day. As a first step, I am on a fixed monthly budget for camera gear. I am working on myself to get used to "let go"and not feel bad about it. Knowing the buyer is a first good step to wish someone happiness with my cameras.

But the big question is what sort of man-purse do you carry such a beautiful kit in?
