I'm guessing here, but...

FSU gear acquisition is relatively safe because of the low prices, though.

And as you acquire more gear, you'll want to be able to fix your own cameras.

Some like it, and some don't.

Fairly Stable Ungulates.

FSU cams are definitely "gateway." You luck out quickly for a little money, a good body, a sharp lens - all for about 50 to 65 with shipping.

Then... BLAMO - you're found muttering to yourself in alley fondling an Argus C44.

I know, It has happened to me.

Since then I've moved up in the world. A few Yashicas and Canons, a Retina and an Isolette.

Could happen to you.

OK then, I have to ask. What's "GAS"?
Definitely a mental health issue, a chronic problem for many of us here in RFF... gear acquisition syndrome. Not sure if there's a real cure out there...

Why on earth would you want a cure for that? It'd be like wanting to cure "multiple orgasm syndrome".

When it comes to FSU GAS is relatively harmless, it's when you start to lust after a Summilux 75 or a Noctilux that things can get really ugly!

The two aren't quite the same thing...

And if you ask me, the latter is far more satisfying. Some here might protest, however.

if you ask me, there are some here who manage to combine them...

Indeed they do. May i point out that Mr Brian Ferry of Roxy Music has memorably evoked the passions and pain of the FSU addict, sweatily awaiting his next mail-order babe....

T´ain´t no big thing
To wait for the bell to ring
T´ain´t no big thing
The toll of the bell
Aggravated - spare for days
I troll downtown the red light place
Jump up bubble up - what´s in store
Love is the Drug and I need to score

Such passions are evoked not only by the Drug, but by the Zorki and the FED, leading to the "Kiss of the Catwoman" Kiev, from whose embrace no man returns! From this point the malady grows exponentially. Indeed, Mr Sting, formerly of the Police, is not only a practitioner of Tantric "practices", but a overt Horizont user!

These musicians! No wonder our young folk are all beatniks!
