Joe,
Welcome to the land of over-night, express mail - LOL.
Seriously, have a great time.

Seems it's been a "plains, trains and automobiles" day for some of us.

It feels good to be back... Thanks for the advice, Rover¡ I'll be following it sooner than you expect¡ 🙂

Catch a meal at MOMA's new restaurant The Modern if you can. They might be able to entertain walk ins if you go early enough. Just had a superb lunch of braised pork cheeks and saurkraut there yesterday... yummy.

The Friedlander show was a bit of a let down for me. I did like his portraits and "Factory" series, but not much else.

They're not in NYC Victor, they're at home. I only asked the question 'cos I'm not a "morning person" myself. It was more rhetorical than anything else. 🙂

How do like the heat Joe? You came just in time. Hope to see you Tuesday.

Wish I could be there with you. 🙂

Two suggestions if you're looking for a place to eat ...

Steak at Peter Lugers ... No, it ain't the Outback, and that's not the only good thing about it. 🙂

Cheesecake at Juniors. Have dinner there too, get some local culture. 🙂

Just ask anybody if you don't know where these are. 🙂

We actually have been lucky here in CT, the humidity isn't as miserable as they forecasted. It is bad, but not as bad as two weeks ago.

Peter, I went back to bed for another 90 minutes or so. After all, it is a Sunday.

Some people say Peter Luger's is the best steakhouse in America. It is located under the Williamsburg Bridge on the Brooklyn side and is surprisingly grungy and old looking which it is, considering the prices they charge. Everything is a la carte including sides, so a steak dinner can run 80 to ninety bucks including tip. It is the best, though. Junior's is located at a former hub in downtown Brooklyn (the old theater and shopping district district) and has outstanding pastrami as well as their famous cheescake. The cheescake is is sold for takeout and even mailed as well as served at the tables. It is a unique place but a bit out of the way if one intends to wander around Manhattan, but one can quickly get back as the subways are close by. Subways are usually far faster than taxis which have to battle NYC traffic and some drivers are not familiar with certain locations.
Last Friday I sampled the pastrami ($6.25 with two pickles) at Eisenberg's which is conveniently located near the Allkit, Adorama, Calumet and Tri State. It appears the pasrami is steamed after it has been sliced and it is sliced too thin which causes it to dry out as you eat it. The second half of the sandwich was too dry and the meat which was too salty to begin with was even saltier when it dried out. Eisenberg's is not a deli but a self described sandwich store and long and narrow and right out of the thirties including the waitress who noticing my horrible vocal condition which she attributed to air conditioning, prescibed hot tea with lemon and honey.
The following day my otolarygologist attributed it to a virus and prescribed an antibiotic and oral corticosteroid. He does'nt have any cold Dr. Brown's in thre office though, Eisenberg's is well stockeed with Dr. Brown's cream soda which is surely of interest to Backalley. See you tomorrow; rain is forcast.

Kurt M. (silent pastrami maven) 🙁

What are you doing on the computer Joe? You should be out and about! Bit of an overcast day in the Big Apple today but still plenty of photo opportunities around, especially with the tourists around now.
