Thank you @Michael Markey - I looked often for any new posts from Joe here. over the last few years.
@back alley Joe may you find your family, and some gentle moments of peace in the times ahead. You will always be a foundation stone here.

Once Joe organized fund raising for a RFF member who needed help.
Perhaps Joe would be OK with receiving help from RFF members.

Thanks for the thought but I’m okay so far. The government pays for most things including drugs hospital stays…and hopefully sooner than later for assisted living care…

Looking forward to be able to be steady enough to wander the streets with a Fuji camera and the perfect lens…all these comments are warmly welcomed..

As some of us age …even older…are we shooting less enjoying it as much as we did when we were younger?
I can barely stand on my own let alone balance with a camera on my side…

Good to hear from you, Joe. In my case, medical issues and the recoveries from them have impacted me more than I thought possible, so there are times I just don't try to do any photography. But the good days are nice to have, though I do get a bit out of practice and find myself questioning why I tried. I just need to take my time and not act like a photojournalist in a rush to capture everything. As some of us age …even older…are we shooting less enjoying it as much as we did when we were younger?

If you wind up with one of those mobility chairs you can always rig a monopod to it to hold the camera.

May your holidays be blessed, Joe, and may you get out with your Fuji in the new year. In my case, 2024 has been the year of pneumonia and recovery from it, and Linn my wife has helped me get around not only to doctors and rehab, but on photography daytrips.
My early Xmas gift to myself is an X-E3 kit. Because Linn shoots an X-E1, on our jaunts we can now share lenses, menu-diving, light & shadow challenges. I hope you too find your way forward, camera in hand, assisted and unassisted.

I'm getting there as well, Joe. I stumble around and sometimes manage to get a picture. Still drive but sometimes talk my wife into driving me around and I shoot from the car. But she's older than I am and doesn't like to drive much anymore. Getting old ain't for weenies. But with a camera...us old farts can still kick ass. Sending you my best, Joe.

I just logged into RFF for the for the first time in a long time and just saw this thread. I wish you well, Joe, you have always been one of the heroes of RFF!
Also, I am in Connecticut and if I could be of any help in your quest, please just message me.
Take care!
