! i'm moving to istanbul in a month...

Maşallah!
Hope you practiced some Turkish in Neukölln already. Or Kreuzberg.

Best

i mainly practiced eating turkish food for the last 24 years. but i can say hello, thank you, yes and no.
and, having lived in neukölln for about 12 years as a kid, i can speak german with a berlin-turkish accent, which counts for nothing in most other parts of the world, i fear.

1970 - hanging out in Vermont in Feb with friends. A couple of them decided to take up surfing and leave for Laguna Beach, CA. After about 30 seconds of thought, I decided I would meet them there. Threw my Spotamatic and some Tri-X into my pack and began walking out the door. I told them I would hitchhike and they would see me at the beach as I bet them I would get there a couple of days before them. I got there about 4 days after them and it was raining. I think I took some cool photos along the way. I always kept one of a guy eating pancakes and smoking a cigar in a diner in New Mexico.
Anyway have a great trip, TRIP!!

i have arrived.

Did your first developing and printing, Simon? Truly arrived now, huh?

Godspeed, good light, good stay! Post some shots!

I am glad you made it.

Yesterday evening Miguel from Portugal called me. He told me that you arrived in İstanbul and you need Taylan's phone number. I called Taylan and also gave Taylan's number to Miguel. At the same time Taylan told me that he would call you in a minute. I beleive at the same time Miguel was trying to give Taylan's number to you but he was talking to me... Or I was talking to Taylan. Don't remember... International mess up :)

Anyway.. I am glad you made it. By the way, Taylan has my number, so if you need any assistance you can call me.

A (slightly) familiar wall - I think I have leaned against it. Though those three prints in the middle weren't there then ;)

Have a very successful and hardworking six months in Istanbul. If Tri-X suddenly becomes unobtainable over here then we'll know where it has all gone . . .

Greetings to Taylan and everyone !

(RickP, Taylans darkroom is just down the road a bit from the Ara-Cafe).

yeh, it's all good, we found each other. ;)

thanks, man!

your crash pad fell through and you're actually staying in a tent?

Looks like someone used their shirt to block up the end of the cardboard box? Or just a lack of curtains ;)

An interesting Rorschach ink-blot sort of picture - everyone will see something different, and it's about light.
