I'm not quite sure where to post this, but anyone here do phone photography?

I just got a new phone, the Samsung Nexus S, and downloaded a few camera apps (HDR camera, "Retro Camera"). The camera on this thing is surprisingly good. Very little noise, sharp lens, for a phone camera that is. Coupled with the Retro Camera app's editing, the photos come out pretty nice and contrasty. Here are a few examples:

Oh and, anyone who needs a light meter app, the Tiny Light Meter app is great!

I usually switch between my rangefinder and phone when I go out shooting. It's amazing how much changing your camera can affect how you take photos.

EDIT: I don't like being told what to do so I don't use light meters 😛

Yes I use my mobile phone with 'Retro Camera' and another app called 'Little Photo' as well as my Nikon RF and for a light meter I installed an app called 'beeCAM light meter' on my mobile. 🙂

Haha, yes I'm sometimes guilty of this too. I took these two over the summer, in San Francisco and New Orleans on my iphone 3gs. Ironically the San Fran one turned out having more pleasing tonality than a similar shot I took with my Pentax DSLR.

😛 Funny one, Chris!

Some pretty interesting photos here! Phone photography seems to be a big thing now, Chase Jarvis has even released an iPhone app and a book on iPhone photography. And there was a post here (i think it was from rff) a few months ago about a photojournalist covering the libyan war with his iphone because he broke his DSLR the day he arrived. It's pretty interesting how far photography has come nowadays; if everyone with a phone can take photos, what IS photography?

Richard Schofield has photos featured in Black and White Photography magazine that he shot with a cell phone. His Flickr cell phone set is here http://www.flickr.com/photos/mrsco/collections/72157606082341750/ Richard uses a point and shoot almost exclusively according to his site in his profile

There was also someone on this forum named Keith I that has a really nice collection of cell phone pics on Pbase http://www.pbase.com/keithbg/the_subway_series

As well there is a thread here about cell phone pics
