I'm NOT your punch bag!

take it easy, Remy. Life is not about an internet forum. Life is about you having a great family, enjoying great photography, and once in a while, when nothing better to do, it's about dropping by RFF for a good discussion or for posting/looking at some shots.
As you said, it's not much easier than reading a book, body language wopuld help, smilies help sometimes to show if somebody's just joking or teasing you but not always enough.

What the hell are you going on about, RML??? You should just laugh at him like others are already doing. What he said was complete foolishness. Funny also that he should mention something about not wanting to use his aging brain cells.

Have a Coke and a smile, man.

Rock On man!!!

I hear ya. This should be a place of comraderie, not adversity and nonsense.

I agree.

I was mainly out of line - and I apologize.

It just seemed to me that the original poster was seeking "user" advice on one of the few RF items that I actually have and felt I could offer a valid opinion about.

When I saw RML's response I felt a bit "inadequate".

A lot of you are long-standing RF users and have drawers full of little "odds and ends" such that you can say (m/l): "Hey, just found in the dark back of my drawer a Leica clip on. Why don't you get one of those instead."

At the time I, wrongly, took it as a cavalier "I have one - why don't you?" kind of statement.

Clearly, I over-reacted and am chagrined for having behave that way.

I'm sincerely sorry for having acted as I did - it was stupid. :bang:

I'm impressed how you grabbed the 'bull by the horns' here.

Maybe it's time for Joe to bury both threads now?

BTW Joe you never said how you liked my Chinese emperor look....

wow, george, i am impressed!
plain & simple impressed!!

you just moved up in my book as i know, for me anyway, how difficult an apology like that is to make in public.

i think we all are the better for it and i thank you.

joe

Good for you, George, for this apology. No need to feel inadequate here. We all have our inadequacies, and are big enought (and not too self-serious) to admit to them. This is a very special place, and we should all try to keep it that way.

Thanks all, but most important to me is the PM apology to RML.

I hope he responds as positively. [Do we have an icon for crossed-fingers?]

Hey George,

You're a good man! 😉

I'm looking for a clip on ... necktie. Spend so much time on RFF I don't have time to tie mine in the morning. 😛

R.J.

This is most civilized behavior. Kudos to both of you for having kept a cool head throughout.

Considering the circumstances... I shall take my hat off to you!

I wish we had a <big hug> smilie... 🙄

Really glad to see you're staying, the place wouldn't be the same without you! 🙂 You still planning on having that wedding in Mongolia in a year or two? How is your daughter doing?

Still planning. 😛 Got to get all the paperwork in order just to get a regular wedding here in Holland first (something to do with custody and the house, you get the drift). Wife and kid doing remarkebly fine really. Both doing well in school and going about all the time. They're happy so I'm happy.

NExt year summer we'll go to Mongolia again but I gues my mother-in-law will still have to wait another year before we get married there. My parents have already invited her when the wedding is here in Holland. Probably the best wedding gift they could give us.

George, apology accepted, of course.

Like I said, it came at the wrong moment in the wrong tone of voice. No harm done. I perhaps overreacted but now I've calmed down. 🙂

I wish I had a drawer full of tidbits, though. Would make it so much easier to grab another lens cap after I lost yet another one. I lost 3 or 4 in the past few months and completely ran out of lens caps or (medicin) bottle caps. Got to start making them from paper soon. 😛

Anyway, what's done is done. Let our boring lives take their courses again.

Joe, feel free to close this thread. Enough has been said, I guess.

George, once again. Apology accepted. No harm done.

Remy

I'd just like to say I'm sorry for letting the air out of your tires. It was childish. Please forgive. Please. I beg of you.

No? Well, who needs you anyway?
