At the revelation that I won't be looking forward to a Bessa in the future, I think I'll stick to my meterless lovelies anyways :D :D

Besides, it's not a brick, I saw one in a museum a few months back (yea that's right, behind glass!!) and fell in love. They're sexy like a (not that big) black square....ummm...camera
 
Ash, I share your pain mate... There is an antique store down the road from me with a (expletive) beautiful Contax I sitting on the shelf. After I saw it the first time I came back to visit a week latter & started thinking how I could realistically put together the $$$. Sense must have kicked in because after a while I forgot about it... That is, until now. Sh*t! :)

Peter, you'll buy it one day. It has to be done. We must grab the few that are still working from the hands of collectors and enjoy the gems!
 
I agree about saving them from collectors... I see the torture that some of my cameras go through sitting on the shelf under all that dust ;) Not sure if I will buy this one though. It had a pretty nasty posh antique store price if I recall... :(

Actually Ash, I have to admit that I think these Contaxes are really cool and I'm actually considering selling a couple of my Leicas and going Contax shopping after Xmas.

I read that the earlier cameras weren't known for having a particularly reliable shutter but god damn they are a 'good looking brick!'

ps. ...... I just thought of a good idea. We'll buy the camera between the two of us ... you get to use it from May to end October and I have it for the other six months! :) :) :)

Keith I'm sorry, a Contax-I isn't a girlfriend. You can't objectify her and share her with
with your friends... you have to actually take care and love a Contax! :D :D

(ok for the record I'm no misogynist, I just thought it sounded funny to say the above. I defy anyone to challenge me because of an ironic joke)
