Besides, it's not a brick, I saw one in a museum a few months back (yea that's right, behind glass!!) and fell in love. They're sexy like a (not that big) black square....ummm...camera

Ash, I share your pain mate... There is an antique store down the road from me with a (expletive) beautiful Contax I sitting on the shelf. After I saw it the first time I came back to visit a week latter & started thinking how I could realistically put together the $$$. Sense must have kicked in because after a while I forgot about it... That is, until now. Sh*t! 🙂

I agree about saving them from collectors... I see the torture that some of my cameras go through sitting on the shelf under all that dust 😉 Not sure if I will buy this one though. It had a pretty nasty posh antique store price if I recall... 🙁

Actually Ash, I have to admit that I think these Contaxes are really cool and I'm actually considering selling a couple of my Leicas and going Contax shopping after Xmas.

I read that the earlier cameras weren't known for having a particularly reliable shutter but god damn they are a 'good looking brick!'
