I'm totally blown away by the Pancake II

The Cosina lenses do tend to be "cooler" and more blue than the 50s and 60s vintage lenses, which are generally "warmer".

I sold the Canon 28mm to a friend. I can probably borrow it and shoot some side by side comparisons. These particular pictures may be a bit unfair here because of the differences in the film and the light. The Canon photo was shot years ago. But what does strike me as interesting is the falloff and sharpness in the corners. Just look at the blue chain in the lower left of the first shot.

Garry Winogrand shot in B&W, so I am not sure what the color rendition of the Canon 28mm has to do with the "look" his photographs had.

The Pancakes have contrast AND sharpness. But the Pancake II is an exceptional lens, even compared to the Pancake I, which is no slouch at all. The P2 is the best 35mm I have ever used.
