iMac bag ?

I have taken my Imac 27 along for a couple of presentations lately.
Normally I take a laptop and use a monitor their at the job or bring an old one (monitor) along.
I let my housemate borrow my MBA 11" for a couple months of travel which has brought up the need to bring it and the possibility it can provide..
I find having the Imac along is a very nice advantage... instead of, what usually is an inferior monitor or a TV screen making my images look weak.

So Far I have been using a large Glass Sunroof bag that has been laying around the garage since the 90's.
It's not a good fit nor secure but, it''s black canvas, looks the part, and with 2 big D rings and a "should strap".... it's worked ok.

There are a number of travel options sold for taking an iMac along from basic bags to bagpacks and expensive airline cases.
The Imac is not very heavy considering what it is. A "shoulder" bag is fine for me although a backpack or wheeled bag might be better.
I need a simple bag for computing my computer locally once or twice a month. (no air travel).

Does anyone have any input or experience (or warnings) to relate?

The best inexpensive thing to use for transporting an iMac is the original box it came in. It's bulky as heck but it protects the computer properly.

Other than that, I'd use a fitted Pelican type case with wheels.

In the FroKnowsPhoto video on Photokina he showed an iMac bag by Tenba, but it probably isn't what you're looking for. anyway, the link to the Tenba page, at $655 it ain't cheap...

Use the stock box. It's cheap (as in free) - and hopefully you still have it. If not, you can probably find one on the 'bay easily enough. It would really suck to damage the LCD with a cobbled solution.

I think a portfolio case would be perfect. Take the iMac to an art supply store like Utrecht and try out artist portfolio cases. A good one will make it very easy to carry and will present well.

It provides no structure to stand up when set down or protective padding.

One of the nice things about the Flight Case is that it makes the iMac look like it's meant to be carried. I use the same iMac at work and absolutely love it.

I'm surprised there's such a product! Looks pretty good, but I think it needs wheels.

The original box is a solution too, but tends to come apart at the top if carried by the handle, even for a reasonably short distance like from the mall parking garage to the Genius Bar! I've made that trek twice with mine, both times using the original box, but smartened up the second time by rolling it in on a fold-up luggage cart. Much less sweat and strain...
