Image comparison of Fuji X-E1 and Nikon D800 using the same lens

Are you really trying to suggest this comparison can't have value to anyone else simply because you can't see past the tip of your own nose?

This (and the subsequent dialog) does answer a question for me.

I am actually considering a D800/5DIII or an XPro1. So there.

I don't want to suggest it, I want to scream it from the heavens. What does the theoretical concept of image quality have to do with your personal vision? How will corner sharpness improve your portfolio? Seriously, tell me exactly how. If you're a product photographer or an architectural photographer then I'm wrong.

If you are considering these three cameras I don't know what to tell you. Learn how to read a specifications list for Christ sake. I chose an XPro1 because its like a Contax G2. I didn't think, well how does it compare to a Hasselblad?

I shoot 8x10, I shoot super 8. I don't pick cameras or lenses based on stupid tests.

I don't really consider my test "stupid" as it was only meant to demo IQ differences of two sensors with similar pixel density for a given area (APS-C/Nikon DX) using the same lens/setup for both. I suspect the D800E's sensor will match resolution but it requires post processing to correct color moire artifacts. Besides better WB, the X-E1 does far better with blacks/shadows at higher ISO than any camera I've used lately. Obviously sensor IQ is only one factor and other things go into the mix when considering a purchase. There are some shooting situation where I much prefer my D800 and wouldn't consider the Fuji any more than when I had my Leica M6 in the days I had a Nikon F100. While the Fuji has it's share of quirks, it's many attributes make it a uniquely wonderful camera much like a Contax G series but without the occassional Contax's AF errors.
