OK the XF 23/2 is finally out. Let's see your Fujifilm XF 23mm F2 images.
Nothing fancy or interesting but here are a few shots from my first day with the lens. All photos are shot with X-Pro2, SOOC Jpegs.

How do you feel about the lens so far? AF speed on par with the 35mm f/2?

I've had it only for a day, and I'm more of a go-by-the-feeling kinda guy when it comes to lenses, but so far my first impression has been positive and as expected (in a good way).
Focus, behavior (mechanical and optical), ergonomics to be just about on-par with 35/2. I think it focuses close enough for the FL and my needs.
Because the 23 is a bit longer, the X-Pro2 will tip forward on table a little. That said I can pretty much forget that I have changed the lens from the 35mm.
The 35mm with LH-35-2 and the 23mm with stock hood will make the overall length just about the same btw. I ran the lens with LH-35-2 yesterday and I love that hood, but the stock hood on 23mm is actually surprisingly nice looking and feeling unlike the stock 35mm hood.
I think this is probably what it's like to have the modern Summarit-M 35 and 50mm on M. Pretty much same design, construction and optical quality/characteristics. Just choose the FL and shoot. My main two lenses for my film Ms are 35/2 v4 and 50/1.4 pre-ASPH, and I love the combo. I might get 35/1.4, which I had in the past and I loved its rendering, and run the combo like I do with the M.

I'll post a couple of test shots tomorrow. B&H shipped mine today so it should arrive tomorrow (they're in NYC, I'm in eastern MA).

This is one fine example of a seemingly unintended awesome image pairing. (If you don't see it, follow the cat's legs)

I'm near the close focus limit of the lens...

Took the 23/2 out with my X-Pro2 to a family camping. Here are some shots (pretty much resized SOOC jpeg). These are "b-roll" pics as I don't want to publish my friends' kids faces without their consent, but the lens and the camera produced some really nice outdoor portrait snaps. It's great to have a fairly compact weather proofed package in an outdoor situation like this.

Got the 23 f/2 delivered today to use with X Pro-1. First thing I noticed was a messed up auto-focus correction frame in the birghtline finder. Quick trip to the firmware store and voila - Fuji released version 3.7 for the X Pro-1 10-6-16 to correct this. Updated firmware and it's working great. Just a heads-up for X Pro-1 users.
No decent images yet to upload, sorry, but I am impressed with the corner to corner and performance and lack of distortion at f/2. Signigicantly better than Canon 22mm EF-M that I've used with EOS M1 and M3.

How much Viewfinder blockage is there in the OVF?

How's the speed? I'm on the fence about picking up the 23/2 for a 35mm focal length on my X Pro 1. Sug's photos are making me lean toward buy.

To answers some of the questions raised:
viewfinder: I mounted it with a 43mm slim UV filter and the included hood, on which the lens cap will also mount on the outside. Seems like it only takes a small corner of the lower right. To my eye, similar to the Contax G1 with 35mm and the hood.
I have a "holy grail" quest to replace that G1 combo with digital - X Pro-1 comes closest, including it's focusing "trends"
focus speed: seems to be better than the 27mm and is okay switching near and far. Once the firmware update was applied, no mis focuses close-up since the actual spot is shown properly.
It's just overall a little long, but I think will be ok. I really wanted the bright line optical finder, having turned back an XT1.
I would say the bokeh is not as smooth as the Leica X1 I tried but focusing that camera is a bit of a challenge. Colors and detail are much improved with Iridient Developer of the raw files, that's for sure.
I believe it's a keeper.

On X-Pro2, the focus speed and accuracy are more than enough for my use, but I'm more of go by the feeling guy with focus and don't really pixel peep or shoot sports. That said, kids don't stay still, and I felt no need of more speed.
Finder blockage on X-Pro2 is a non-issue for me with either hood. ERF patch will cover the lens barrel in VF.
X-Pro1/2 + 23/2 (or 35/2) with small stock hood really looks like a digital G1/2 kit.
I'm pretty much set with this kit plus 50/1.4 Lux Pre-ASPH with Fuji X-M adapter when I need a moody shot. I hope I can get a 21mm in smaller package than current 14/2.8 one day.

Beautifully built lens, very fast autofocus on the XPro2.
