in case you wanted to know...

Be careful not to freeze your...shutter. Yeah, that's it, don't freeze your shutter.

Best Regards,

58 F here in Wilson, NC right now. It will be 74 F tomorrow. Sorry!

Expecting 64 Farenheit in Jackson Heights tomorrow. At least your sister will be warm. What else can I tell you except to sympathize.
Keep warm.

Haha,

its about 35 Celsisus today here in Sydney, but as a result we are having some pretty bad bushfires! So its not always a good thing....

Saw the bushfires on TV here in New York. Keep safe.

Thanks Scarpia...

Thanks Scarpia...

Thanks for your concerns but I am in a pretty safe area here in Sydney, most likely the pics you saw on TV were from South Australia as there has been what I guess you call a firestorm which has killed quite a few people and destroyed large numbers of livestock, native animals and thousand of hectares of land. However bushfires are part of the natural process here, as deadly as they may be many native plants require bushfires in order to seed.

During the last big bushfires around Sydney I had all these bizarre looking jet black eucalyptus leaves landing in my backyard, when you looked at them closely they had bubbles on them as though they had been deep fried!

Joe,
I wish I could say that I feel your pain but I do understand. Thirty years ago I lived in an area that had some snow every day from October through April. I got a call one January night from a guy who wanted to talk to me about a job. I told him, truthfully, that I loved my job and had no interest in changing. He told me that the job was located just south of LA. I looked outside at the snow falling and my outdoor thermometer showed -12 farenheit. That was the most persuasive argument anyone ever used on me.

Why!

Why!

It's the beautiful country don't you know. I shot this on the Ice Fields Parkway south of Jasper. When the snow melts enough, you'll be able to see it again.

As for me, I don't like it when it's below 70 deg F.

The weather has been real bad in Boston the last few days, not the bitter cold that Joe is experiencing, but a lot of precipitation (snow & rain) and no sun since last week. Horrible. It's like being home in Manchester - I didn't move 3.5K miles for the same weather for crying out loud!! :( :(

I was raised in Florida and have been in Southern California 25 years. So, I've never been blessed with the chance to live in the cold. Besides, It's no fun riding a motorcycle in the cold.

Amen, brother! There was one winter a few years ago here in southern Ontario when I was able to rind at least one day every month of the year because of freakishly warm weather. (1976 BMW R90 and 1981 BMW R100)

My bones resent it but, what kind of shots would I get without winter? Not this, of kids playing hockey on a frozen lagoon on campus...

I'll bet he didn't mention California traffic.... did he? :D

Beautiful day here today, blue sky, warm sun... and it managed to struggle up above the freezing point, so a good portion of the snow melted. Nice to see the days getting a little longer too!

Hey Joe, I have friend who is moving to Calgary from the UK. He should be okay with temps like -34, after all that's a good summer over here!

Paul

And this is why the weather guy on TV always says,
"A mass of cold artic air will be coming down out of Canada controlling our weather pattern for the weekend. Highs expected to be in the teens (F)."

That will be all February for us. I actually like the winter.

I was watching an FA Cup match on the telly the other day and the weather was cold with sleeting rain and the clouds were roughly at the level of the stadium roof. Outside my window it was exactly the same. And it's like that today too... :(

72 degrees F at 7am today. :)

I.......love........Florida.......

I was born and raised in Chicago. I hate cold weather.
