I would like to share some recent pictures from Northern Laos. Finally, I took my film Leica M with me again - I found a way to develop and scan B/W film in Phnom Penh where I stay at the moment. In terms of lenses, I used both Summicron 35 and Jupiter-8. They actually complement each other well: different focal lengths, very different lens characteristics...

Thanks, everyone! While I enjoy film photography very much, the whole scanning process is indeed quite time consuming... I will upload a few more pictures in the upcoming days.

totally agree;
even though recently I purchased a Nikon 5000 to handle full roll scanning, I still found that a time consuming job.
now, I just get my developed films (b/w) scanned the lab; and only re-scan best frames with my Nikon.
may be I should buy a Pakon

This thread is awesome…. I love traveling in Laos, it is such a special place. There are so many interesting places to explore and it is truly an "adventure". It reminds me of what Thailand must have been like 100 years ago. I see that you live in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. I tend to go there a could of times a year for work, I would love to meet up with you at some point in the future.

Thanks again for starting this tread.

cheers, michael

Valuable content and high quality BW. Creaming good black and white photography. One of the examples which leaves Leica Monochrome and else digital in the visible dust.

Trung, it's great that you share your pictures! Do you have more photos? I'm a long time follower of your Hanoi thread.

Thank you for keeping a look on Hanoi thread,
and yes, I still have few more photos of Laos and Thai. It was quite a short trip hence no time to dig further.
Just some spontaneous snap shots though.

One thing I realized that pick-up cars and lambro-type vehicle are very popular.

Michael, you are right, but who knows how long that situation will remain. There are a number of dam constructions around the Mekong in work, and also the demand for timber is increasing rapidly.

I will send you a PN with my contact details - let me know when you plan to come to Phnom Penh.
