My take is that this is a Western instigated and manufactured conflict with the goal of color revolution and regime change for Russia and China. Both countries have balked at taking the globalist path of Europe, Commonwealth, Japan, Taiwan and USA.
The current drive towards globalist control of the world is centered on the threat of climate change. However Russia has a massive supply of inexpensive and efficient clean natural gas that can be safely delivered via pipeline. This could unravel the "climate crisis". After all, if energy is inexpensive (and it is, before taxes and speculation) then the drive to convert to alternative fuels dissipates.
Thus the rationale for sabotaging the Nordstream pipeline between Russia and Germany.
The other driver is preserving the US dollar's hegemony. Neither Russia and China have an interest in preserving the dollar especially as we have shown ourselves to be hostile and domineering. As an American I fear the dollar's diminishment because the true cost of our endless money creation comes home to roost. Inflation is much easier to stomach when shared worldwide across 7.4b versus 331m Americans. Rather than our artificially low inflation numbers we could rapidly achieve Weimar level inflation if China promotes a sounder alternative to our trashing about in constant state of conflict and endless, expensive wars. Who wouldn't convert to a stable digital Yuan if the USD has out of control inflation? American citizens would be first in line to convert to whatever safe haven emerges.
Imagine the consequences to the US dollar if Europe begins using Chinese currency to pay for Russian energy?
The collapse of the dollar and energy/climate crisis could stall the ongoing, centuries-long march towards globalization and world government. Countries would become more nationalistic, the people might organize themselves into populist electorates and so on.
If one isn't beaten and humiliated by the media and authorities ~ and is unafraid of the "conspiracy" moniker or the other insults slung around by establishment apparatchiks ~ then a thinking person might readily draw the connection between the attempted Hong Kong color revolution (over a murder extradition lol) being run by Western forces (CIA, Mossad, MI6, Soros, various Bond villains) and the various public health crisii culminating in this never ending Covid fiasco as all being incomplete and incompetent attempts at thwarting China. Same with the vilification of Putin over supposedly poisoning spies and enemies, arresting the Pussy Riot girls in a church and prohibiting homosexuals from teaching in elementary schools or having gay pride parades. While the mainstream media ignores or censors such speculation all one has to do is look at foreign or alternative media from numerous credible sources to draw these rather obvious links. This info is in plain sight, just as we watched Building No. 7 collapse on 9-11 in exactly the same manner as the Twin Towers ~ but we ignored our common sense and, umm... science.
To me the most scary thing about all this is how quickly and easily people have been spun up by emotional propaganda and manufactured consensus. A month ago less than 10% of Americans could place THE Ukraine on a map within 1400 miles. Now fools are enlisting to fight. Even Scandinavians are gunning for war, this is insane. And suicidal. It's almost as if people have gone crazy after Covid and want war to break up their boredom. Please no.
It wouldn't surprise me if "aliens have landed" is hoaxed as the next great distraction.

The International Court of Justice ordered Russia to suspend its military operation on March 16th - which Russia didn't do. The court also said it was not in possession of proof of genocide - Russia claimed genocide of Russian speakers to be the reason for the invasion, sorry, special military operation. One would expect Russia to give proof of genocide if they could.
Then there is the encroachment of NATO into the east. However, why attacking Ukraine and not NATO? Ukraine is a sovereign nation that can join alliances. There was no reason to assume Ukraine would join NATO in the foreseeable future. If the problem is the Baltic states joined NATO, why invading Ukraine?
I think you can only conclude that Russia, Putin, is in the wrong here. There was no legitimate reason to invade Ukraine.

Big problem with this war is that it originated from a civil war with a throw-in mix of foreign citizen in there. This happened on the past in Mexico which lead to foreign occupancy, supposly to protect their citizen. Things always get a bit fuzzy with civil wars.

An unpleasant truth needs to be faced here; Ukraine was no democratic Nirvana but a corrupt kleptocracy run by oligarchs; a miniature version of Russia itself. Western pols were drawing money from a variety of rackets and payola schemes, Hunter Biden and his dad Joe "10%" weren't the only ones; German, Italian and French notables were amongst many pigs at the trough. The Soviets' abandoned biowarfare facilities in eastern Ukraine have been mentioned; they were involved in Lord knows what over the past 30 years. It must be recalled that Ukraine was one of the locations the CIA stored important captured al Qaida personalities for information extraction. None of which are valid reasons for anything that's happened. These points are just facts that have to be acknowledged
But at the moment that's all beside the point as the average Ukrainian is bearing the unspeakable suffering for a tyrant's ambitions. And since Vlad's more of an organized crime boss and poker player than a sober leader plotting his next chess move, he can't back down. Ever. His armies plod & blunder on slowly but without halt or regard to consequences. They will lay waste to everything brefore them as the Mongols once did.
Which makes a solution even in the short run, an unrealizable expectation. This bitter reality leaves everyone in the West few options, beyond making him and his army bleed to the point of exhaustion. Sanctions won't work. Too much money to be made by the crypto purveyors and the PRC. We dance at the precipice of World War every time a shipment of missiles crosses the border; the Kremlin is always concocting new pretexts for the next obscenity and chemical weapons attacks are on the table. So nothing short of Vlad's "exiting" the scene will bring the chapter to a close and no less than delicate finessing can prevent this from rapidly spiraling out of control.

As an American citizen and taxpayer I’d like to know whether we are engaged in a proxy war to kill Russians, including women and children and also including Ukrainian ethnic Russians, including women and children? When were we allowed to vote on anything related to this if we supposedly live in a vibrant democracy and should we also be killing the Russian immigrants who are naturalized citizens and live down the road? Should the Russian emigre who teaches at the local college be arrested and taken to Guantanamo Bay or is that site exclusive to our last generation’s potential enemies of vibrant democracy?
Also once we capture these Russians are we supposed to castrate the ones who identify as cis male or everyone with biological male parts?
And are we still supposed to punch Nazis even though we also supply them with weapons and ammunition?
I understand that Putin is Bin Laden who was equivalent to Hitler but I don’t understand why I can’t see, hear or read anything from the Russian perspective or what exactly Putin did that was any more distasteful than other Allies or even our own pillars of ethics in NYC and DC?

Irony aside, if we drop the window dressing we would recognize that most nations are fascists in that the State works with corporations to accomplish nationalistic goals, be it militarily or economic. The difference is that while Russia and China have the State with power over their corporations… In the West we have the reverse and our corporations rule over the State.
Look at the “defense” industry stocks right now. Look at the energy company profits. Look at the banks making loans with our fiat currencies. Everyone is getting rich except the people.
Thank goodness for those brave folks at the New York Times and Washington Post, CNN and the Atlantic magazine for shedding light on all of this hahaha

Minor correction: Putin and Putin's Russia have both got nothing to do with Communism as an ideology. Russia post-USSR is the perfect example of pure, unchecked capitalism, and they don't even pretend to be anything else.
The status of China is far more up for debate, and whether you call them communist or state capitalist probably says more about your own personal political leanings than it does China itself.

not really - minorities can use their languages and have schools and news exclusively in their language. this bill was added because we use laralel Latin and Cyrillic and people slowly stopped using Cyrillic at all because its easier to make everything latin-so this was just a move towards government institutions to use Cyrillic. nobody else needs to make logo in it. its just for government funded organisations and government bodies. they dont need to use exclusively Cyrillic but they have to have one version written in it. so yeah - we are pretty open society - read stuff before you post. i lived in Netherlands for years and i can tell you Serbia is 50 years ahead when tolerance and minority rights are concerned. not to mention that we have more women in power and in high education than any european nation consistently since wwii.
its a sad world where guy from nazi collaborator country like Lithuania explain to me who come from purely anti-fascist country something about human rights. plus your country did same as ukraine and made some monuments for collaborators recently. but you dont mind it in ukraine so you dont mind in lithuania - so its easy you are nazi.

Neither Russia nor the PRC are capitalist nations. They are corporatist states more akin to Nazi Germany, Mussolini’s Italy and even Portugal in the 1920’s;--the US under Woodrow Wilson during WWI was very similar.
The hallmark of fascist regimes. The illusion of private ownership working at the directive of the government and not the Market.
