In vino veritas...

Nice photo, but I'm going to take a moment to express a personal, abiding distaste for these dreadful Riedel "O's". Awkward, sodding wastes of glass! Suitable only for casting into the fireplace. A proper wineglass has a stem. Or do as the Burgundians and serve in a tumbler - easier to hold and not nearly so silly-looking. End of rant.

J J: You're always welcome, just be sure you add a little something to the list. :D

Thomas: I bet that was a good visit ... I've yet to make it to BC wineries, it's on my list.

Gabriel: Yowza, wonderful shot.

deep in the cave at Caves Llopart, Penedes, Catalunya. Llopart has some of the finest artesanal cavas - every bit as good as the finest French champagnes. I prefer the very brut Integral which is made with all organic grapes and no chemical additives. Llopart has a tiny fraction of the cava production is Spain which is dominated by the giant Freixenet.

Very nice shot Gabriel. The subject, selective focus, composition, colours. It's all perfect!

Also, I've always been smitten by the pre-aspheric 'lux. I really want one.
Thanks, Ron. Well, the pre-asph Lux is clearly not a good lens "clearly not up to snuff", according to Puts ;) I guess for a very narrow DOF you need ultimate "sharpness".

Nice photo, Pablito. Kind of spooky. Is that a toned monochrome shot, or color?

This will get you a $2000 fine and up to a year in jail in VT. Supplying alcohol to a minor is a serious offense hereabouts. More insanity from our citzen legislature.

Apologies - missed this comment at the time of posting (page 1 of this thread).

There was no supply. I'd love to meet the lawyer who could argue that there was. My boy was under no illusions: this was forbidden fruit juice, hence his mischievous expression at finding it there. This was an entirely un-contrived discovery, but I was close at hand and could have rescued my glass had it been necessary.

Thanks for the kind comment, Steve!

I doubt there would be a $2000 fine for posing with wine.
