Hello Photographers,
I wonder if you can use the pancake like Industar 50-2 without the barrel extension on LTM bodies.
I just know 50mm lenses that are quite long and no one below 3,5cm length.
So it would be awesome to use that lens without the extension as a real pancake 50mm.

The collapsible and solid Industars for Zorki or Fed can be used on all LTM cameras, but the Industar for Zenit in 39MM thread can not without an extension. Neither can the lens for the half-frame camera as far as I know.

The extension piece on the RF version of the lens is what gives the correct lens-to-film distance, you cannot remove it or use the SLR version and get focus. The SLR version doesn't have the extension piece because the mirror-box on the SLR body replaces it, in terms of spacing.

The thing about a 50mm lens is it's a 50mm lens. Both the Zenit and Zorki 50mm Industar have to be the same distance from the film. The Zenit has a much thicker body so the lens barrel is shorter - the Zorki has a much thinner body so the lens barrel has to be longer to keep the lens the same distance from the film.
Beyond that the Zenit version wouldn't couple with the RF cam even if you did mount it on a Zorki.
