Industar 50-22 and Elmar

Hi,
I'm recently atracted to this old lenses but I read they arent real Elmar copies.

In fact I don't now if the Industar 22 and the 50 are the same lense.
It seems to be that they are actually more a Tessar copy than a Leitz one.

I know they are very cheap lenses so why to bother...
There are plenty of images taken with them, and it looks like a good performer if it is well adjusted.

Anyone knows about the Industar 50-22 real origins?

Daniel, nice picture. It hasn't got an extreme vintage look.
Glad to hear that the lense isn't a bad copy.
I think I'll be buying one of those that come with a yellow snap on filter.

I own an 3,5cm Elmar and flare is no problem at all.
Now my 9cm Elmar flare's even indoors.

I've just bought a Industar 50 on ebay. :)
I hope it gets in good shape.
 
I own either two or three of the Industars, 22s, I think. I don't own any Elmars. I find the Industars to be fine for my purposes, general photography. My only criteria is whether I like the image. I don't pay any attention to resolving power, etc., although perhaps I should.
 
I shoot with both the I22 and I50 from time to time. IMHO, they're both pretty good lenses. Their compact size is the big plus and is primarily the reason I use them ~ for a "coat pocket kit." But when I've used them, I have yet to get somewhere with one and wish I had something else, either before the shot or after seeing the results. They work fine for me.

Here's a couple of "undoctored" shots, one of each. I22 first then 150.
 
Let's get this right - the Elmar is a TESSAR copy :) The Tessar is one of the most plagerized lens designs in history. You know what they say about imitation being the highest form of flattery.
