Industar-50, Macro...?

A Zorki "C" I bought the other day (for NZD $50 🙂 ) arrived with what looks like your standard rigid Industar 50 f/3.5, except it's half the size, almost like a pancake lens. It looks exactly like your usual Industar 50, but cut in half. Plus, minimum focus marks from M 0.65, 0.7, 0.75, 0.8, 0.9, 1.0..... rather than the usual minimum focusing distance of 1 meter. I've had a brief search on the web to identify it, but no success. Anyone got some info here....? It has the standard KMZ logo and the sn 6784311..... Cheers!

Hmmmm.... probably you've got the early reflex version of the Industar 50.
It has the same M39x1 screw, and the only difference is the shorter thickness, due to the increased film distance in the reflex body.
New version has the more common M42x1 screw, but older ones has the same, so it's not hard to mistakenly mount it on a rangefinder body.
The solution would be to have a threaded ring to adjust the distance, but it is clearly easier to find another "long" Industar 50! 😀

Cheers Glauke, I was wondering if it had maybe come off an earlier m39 mount Zenit SLR. Will this mean that focus is inaccurate...? I notice on my FSU bodies that the RF patch always matches at minimum focus with this lens, but never at maximum focus...?

Yes, focus is impossible with this lens on a Zorki body, and as it is a reflex lens, it lacks the mechanic to move the rangefinder arm.
