Industar-50 pancake

Hello forum,
I've just found you and I admit to be totally astonished reading your experiences. I've bought a FED2 with the normal industar-26m/2,8 receiving as present a tiny Industar-50/3,5 pancake (m39).

Trying this lens I feel like it doesn't move correctly the internal cam, so it's not possible to focus with it. Do you know if this lens has some issue coupled with a Fed2?

It's the one for the early russian slr's. It will mount, same threads, but it won't work on your fed 2. No cam for the RF, and the back focus is different. Sorry, and welcome to RFF!

There are, however, adapters that are fairly easy to find that would let you use this lens on either an M42 (Praktika or Pentax) screw mount SLR or a Canon EOS SLR.

Hi, welcome aboard.

The Pancake lens was later on available in the M42 or Praktica thread and was the (cheaper) standard lens on the Zenit SLR's. Although most people would say the 52/53mm f/2 was the standard lens. The Industar is one of the best available for the FED 2 and many think the FED 2 the best CRF made in the USSR.

May I ask where you found the diagram of the lens, please?

good point, it would be a pity to leave this tiny glass unused, I'll search an adapter for my 5D.

I have one I got from (I think?) Fotodiox. I use mostly so I can use my RF lenses as macro lenses. Works fairly well once I figured out the metering.

And, thanks for the link to Zenit; I'd not been there in a while and am finding some "new" stuff to read...and to try to find. 😀
