i wanna share my conversion of 1st generation chaika lens (non removable one).. i used industar 22 mount and chinese m39 to fx adapter and also had to add one more ring to reach infinity.. i like results more than what i saw from chaika 2... see for yourself (all shot on fuji xe1)
wide open f2.8
@5.6
closest focus wide open
close focus wide open
infinity focus wide open
street test focus on that light on jacket @2.8 (i missed focus slightly)

Interesting conversion. Results look fine and it seems to work very well with the crop factor of the fuji xe1.
I converted a screwmount I-69 to Leica LTM registration distance a few years back. But the resulting images had a bit more vignetting in the corners when mounted on my Epson R-D1.

I think the results look rather awful at least at infinity. Are you sure you have introduced no tilt with the adaptation? Is the lens better on film, i.e. is the fuzzyness a result of the angle of incidence on the sensor?

No tilt at all - i used all parts from other lenses so all surfaces are perfectly smooth... but yes edges are expected to be soft at infinity and wide open... ill make stopped down ones and show later...
Also all tests online with screwmount i69 show more ghosting and softer image at 2.8 - this one is much sharper-i wonder if they made some changes for that screwmount version.
