Inexpensive 28mm Viewfinder - is there such a thing

In the UK Ffords always seem to have cheap VC viewfinders in their used section. The have a 28 for 49 GBP at the moment.

What's cheap enough? How about $75 for a like-new chrome 28mm CV finder, like the one on my M2 (camera and lens not included)?

CV made a small plastic 28mm VF before the current quite expensive one. Save a search on eBay for one and you'll probably find no-one else interested in it. At least that's what happened to me. I think it cost me $60 or something. Nice finder! 🙂

By the way, how are you liking that M-hexanon 28? I've read stellar reviews of it. If it is anything like the other m-hexanons, it probably is quite a gem.

I do like it Tom! The glass in this particular sample is terrific and I've included a shot taken with it in my two submissions for the upcoming RFF book. Kind of a weird picture of a fake plant in a holder out on a Boston street. Most of the picture is out-of-focus, both in front of the plant and behind it and that's what really caught my eye about this particular pic.

The only thing I can find to criticize about the lens is that it is very heavily damped. Difficult to move with just one finger if you're sneakily taking pictures on the subway. 😉

I just got a new 35mm lens and that has been glued on my camera since I got it. I actually really love the 35mm focal length which seems like a normal lens on a Leica (to me) but there are times when you need that bit of extra width and now I have that in the 28. This one I'm keeping! 😀
