inexpensive wide-angles lenses?

after reading the recent wide angle thread and looking around myself, I didn't think there were very many choices, outside of the Canons and CVs. But what's this:

Are there Russian/FSU options? Are they in general less expensive?

Right, an Orion-15... From what I hear it's very good optically, though obviously quite slow. Unusual four-element symmetrical design. Hmm, interesting; the auction is incorrect in calling it an f/8 lens... It's actually almost a stop faster at f/6! 🙂

That error might slow down the bidding. So if you're interested in the lens, then this auction might be a good one to watch. I think the Orion-15 generally sells at a higher price than the 2.8/35mm Jupiter-12.
