Infamous M5. Have you noticed...

The Leica M5, as all the cameras with over 30 years old, need control. However, i never buy on Ebay: i prefer the renowed official vendors and my preferred shop is www.ilcontatto.com. in Turin (Italy). I have bought in this shop a Leica M5, a Leica CL with Summicron C 40/2, a Nikon FM2n, both Nikon F2A chrome and F2AS black, a Canon FD 24 mm f/ 2,8 and a Nikkor AIS 28-85 mm f/ 3.5-4.5. All these tools work perfectly, without any need of overhauling. Particularly, my Leica M5 work faultessly and i'm very happy to use.
The very first lots of the Leica M5 (1971 and 1972) showed the weakness of the film advance lever system: this problem was solved quickly and the early cameras was all repaired in Wetzlar, with the new and very strong film advance lever system.
