Nice John and Joe. I have a 720nM filter with adapter rings for most of my M glass, bought with the R-D1 in mind, never got round to using it. How many stops must you adjust for?

Being a total newbie when it comes to IR photography, would I need to change any settings on the camera, beyond compensating the exposure?
I've got an unused Leitz Rm-Filter (670nm) lying around that I would like to try on one of my Elmar lenses.

Normal daylight just try 400 / 800 iso and 1/30 to 1/60 @ F4 as a starting point. Just check after taking it.
With the R72 the image is shades of red. In EpsonRaw select a 'gray point' with the dropper tool somewhere on the image until it looks like the above. Then tighten up the levels in PS. You can also swap red and blue channels in the Channel Mixer to give a blue sky effect as can be seen in the first picture.

Wow, so all I have to do to get this effect is get an r72 filter? Is that 720nm? I take it no mods are required to the camera?

Cheers for the tips & tricks. I tried the Rm filter on an Elmar 50/3.5 a week ago. Didn't get it right just yet. Need to play with post-processing some more.

in pse8, i convert to b&w and then play with levels till i like what i see.

Guys, thank you for the tips here. Just tried adding the R72 filter to the M9, adjust for +3 stops, and got lovely B+W IR shots. Cheers.
